SMM & the new Blog Layout

Hello everyone. I know it's kinda late to talk about the long ago changed theme of the blog and almost a week after the SMM is over, but I needed to share the credits and talk about the most awaited tournament of the year some-time.

First of all, the blog theme is "Picture Window" provided by Blogger itself. The background is a little customized version of the DotA 2 wallpaper by Warchamp7 @ playdota.com

There were some other awesome wallpapers which though unsuitable for the blog but, I know will be loved by many, again from the graphic designers @ playdota.

The blog header was made by jesusatan again from playdota. A big thanks to him for his exclusive effort. :)

A non visual change was made to the blog feed. Now the site feed does not include the spoiling stuff i.e. anyone reading the feed will get all the content, including images and HTML formatting, up until the jump break (Spoiler Stuff). Now let's take on what was the most awaited tournament of the year, the SMM'10.

First of all, I loved the fact that Tobi shoutcasted the games which increased the entertainment value by at least 10x times. :D His live cast was followed by lightning fast updates at Playdota thanks to Owl Owl who was present at the venue itself. An applause to GosuGamers for all the interviews and stuff... :)

I missed MYM as I expected them to make a comeback in this tournament. At the same time last year, the potential of Chinese teams was unknown to the rest of the world. The proclaimed No.1 team of Europe came with the burden of more than half the DotA community and got kicked out in the qualifiers itself! Yes, that team was MYM and I was hoping them to surprise the Chinese this time. But alas! Anyways, those who enjoyed the SMM'10 would surely like to read about SMM'09 @ DotaStrategy.com written by myself.

My small 3-4 day poll revealed Nirvana.cn to be the most favourite team of the tournament after their glorious consecutive tournament victories - RGC (Online) & WDC (LAN). I personally wanted to LGD.sgty to defend their title but Ehome, the winners of SMM'08 did not leave much space for the others to win this cup. Most of the games they played flawless with mind-blowing team work & practice. Congrats to them for winning this, they truly deserved it! :)

All in all, it was a tremendous tournament way beyond my expectations, got a lot of games RR'ed on GosuGamers :P. I've only posted the one that I liked the most (of all I've seen till date) but the tournament was surely a treat for any DotA player and I hope sponsors keep pouring in for more tournaments as we all wait for the release of DotA 2 "Game of the Year 2011". ;)
