The Picks

FF came for this game with a pre-loaded line-up set in their mind which focused largely on team battles. The usual approach by them in team fights would be Ghost Ship -> Black Hole -> Global Silence -> Requiem of Souls -> Freezing Field which could be used in other permutations as well. Seeing FF’s lineup, there are two things LGD should take care of –

1. Pick out one or two FF heroes before a team battle begins and/or they use their ulti. To pick out heroes you need vision of the complete map so that you actually know when one hero is away from his team members, therefore the Venomancer pick whose wards give a huge vision of the map and aid in pushing as well.

2. Keep dispersed among themselves so that they’re not all caught together in a single ulti as it would chain devastation for them in that particular team battle. Chen was picked for his heal as an assurance so LGD heroes last longer in team battles.

Overall, I would say FF successfully outpicked LGD as they got the heroes they wanted and LGD ended up somewhere between a gank and push line-up.

Replay 71: MYM Prime XII: Aeon vs DTS

This game was not exactly an Epic Game, but very good and I decided to post it because I already did an analysis for it. :P

The Ganking Singaporeans vs The Regenerating Ukrainians

The Pick Phase

Aeon came for this game with a gank strategy in mind, started off with an aggressive Storm pick. Vengeful is the best first pick I know while Rylai was picked by DTS so her aura wouldn’t help Storm. Aeon resumed their gank strategy with a strong Lion Enigma pick, although I should say picking Enigma when your opponent has Vengeful is a dangerous thing to do. Next, DTS pick Warlock and Necrolyte. Although a Silencer pick hit my mind at that moment because he could’ve nicely dealt with all three casters, Storm, Lion and Enigma. Anyways, Warlock also provides a good counter to Enigma’s Black hole with his massive AoE ulti. Necrolyte on the other hand, was picked to handle Storm so he doesn’t get away at low health. With these picks, DTS confirmed a good push line-up with 2 healers and a mana fountain Ryali. :P Next came a surprise ganking pick by Aeon, the Spectre! :D And with her came the regular tri-laner support Vol’jin. Last pick was Kunkka which nicely fit the DTS line-up although a tank could’ve made their pushing a lot easier imo.

Aeon heroes were very strong late game while on the other hand DTS had a good pushing line-up. This should mean the mid game should belong to DTS shifting its favour towards Aeon as the game progresses. If someone asks me whose line-up was better, I’d say DTS’ because unlike Aeon, they didn’t depend on their carries farming up a lot.

Replay 70: ADC IV: Nirvana.cn vs XtC

The Ganking Chinese vs The Turtling Singaporeans

Who do you think will win? XtC tries out the long forgotten Bristleback against a solid ganking line-up. Will the pig be able to tank them all? Or will YaphetS win this game with yet another awesome gameplay? Who do you side with? Do watch the replay and read my long-long analysis of the game. :)

Looking at the line-ups I would say, Nirvana.cn pretty much outpicked XtC. If Doom and Enigma can get a dagger, they’re likely to win all team battles while Lion and Maiden can take care of the “ganking” phase.

XtC on the other hand, tried to counter Nirvana all the way. They had something I could call a “Keep-Distance” line-up with all Voljin, Zeus, Venge and Sniper capable of keeping down Enigma’s Black Hole from a distance. The biggest flaw with their line-up was that there was no AoE stunner. Their only initiator was Vengeful which was also one of the only two stunners in team. All hope rested on Bristleback if he’ll be able to farm or not. One good thing with the bristleback pick other than tanking his team was that there was no high armor hero in the opposition which would mean his quills would deal a good amount of damage, even if he’s totally disabled by the 4 stunners in opposite team.

My first thoughts for Nirvana laning were like-
Top – Doom Bringer
Mid – Lion
Bot – Sven + Maiden
Jungle – Enigma

What the above plan I propose shows a strong laning plan promising a good late game with the right people getting the farm. However, it turned out to be Sven roaming while Enigma soloing which meant that Nirvana would rather prefer to push and end the game quickly, possibly before BB gets a radiance.

Regarding XtC’s lanes, they were quite as predicted except for the fact that I thought Venge/Vol’jin would stick with BB rather than roaming around.
