Replay 76: WDC Qualifier: EHome vs LGD.sgty

1.24b / 6.68c

Game Played: 10-Oct-2010
Game Length: 109:55 min

When the top two teams of the world play against each other, epicness is bound to happen and so I post this replay without even watching it. :D I'm unsure how much time will it take to analyze a 100+ min replay so I'll postpone posting the analysis as of now. :D Meanwhile, enjoy the game and do not forget to change your Warcraft Patch to 1.24b for watching this replay. Warcraft Version Switcher

You can enjoy Luminous' video commentary on this game at Dota Commentaries.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the time to analyze this game, kinda feel guilty about this as I promised that I'll do it but, job comes before blog. :| Anyways, you can read a nice short analysis of the game by some guy who likes to keep himself anonymous in the comments below.

Also, I noticed a lot of people on PlayDota and GosuGamers asking why Sniper bought the MKB?
- The mini-stun from MKB does not stack with Sniper's headshot.
- I can't find the link atm but it's a proven fact that Buriza-do-kyanon gives more DPS to Sniper than MKB.

Then why did X!!, a player of one of the top teams of the world go for it? The answer is True-Strike

Hitting heroes and towers at a higher terrain level has always been a problem for Sniper because of his huge range (810). By gaining the True-Strike ability, you disable the enemy's advantage of 25% miss-attacks on higher level and that actually proves out to be quite wonderful when pushing. To get more information on MKB, visit the link DotaSecrets, and do read the comments there too as they contain a lot of explanations. :)

Winner :: Ehome.

  1. Just watched it. It was turtling at its best. This replay proves the superiority of high mobility heroes (like Storm Spirit and Tinker)
    in late game pushing.

  5. imo the lack of physical dps on sentinel cost them the game. Once sniper and sf completed their bkbs the game was almost over for sentinel

I would both like to agree as well disagree with you. :P

Agree because in long games high physical dps proves out much more effective to deal damage than magical damage.

Disagree because there have been many games where teams having all magical damage won the match with no problems. :)

It was not for the lifesteal. He made it for the damage aura on a team depending highly on physical damage.

  9. the lack of a physical dps for lgd cost them the game...all intellegence heroes have won games before due to early game superiority but despite the great advantage that lgd had early game they couldnt open any tower maybe due to the counter pushing role that neveremore assumed.
another aspect to consider is the fact that early game despite being inferior to lgd, lh managed take the roshan several times while lgd basically just stood there watching.infact the first roshan rush by lh happened without lgd even knowing what happened.
another weird thing was the lack of coordination between luna's and necrolyte's ultimate...early game these 2 spells alone can easily finish off a hero.
in face at one point in the game i thought that a scepter for necrolyte instead of a vanguard would have been more usefull in finishing off nevermore who really became imba due to his satanic.also concerning necrolyte's utimate at battle late game it was wasted on an easy to kill venomancer instead of being saved to finish off nevermore.
on a side comment may of u may not agree but i do believe that had luna finished of a etherial blade despite not being an agility hero..and used that blade on nevermore in combination with her spells and finishing off with necrolyte reaper's scythe could have won lgd the game.
another comment was that stoem should have went for an orchid instead of chivas and left luna to guy the chivas...since only one chivas is required per team luna desperatly needed the extra armor for survivability while storm would have really used the extra dps from orchid that gives a total 60 dmg and 30 attack speed.

finally i believe that the combination of counter pushing and roshan rush's used by lh along with the lack of a physical dpser on lgd's side led to this outcome.

  16. You are using the wrong patch of warcraft to watch the replay. Use the 1.24b patch to watch this game. You can download the Warcraft Version Switcher from the below link...
